Thanksgiving appetizer: Pumpkin Cream Cheese Crostini!

Hello SHUGAs! Autumn is in full swing and we are loving it! The weather continues to cool down, most vegetative growth has decreased, and animals are preparing for winter by moving to warmer places or gathering food.   Undoubtedly, Autumn signifies transition, and just as the trees let go of their leaves, it is a time for us to let go of the things we can’t change and to be thankful for all we have.

Autumn also brings us a beautiful festivity: Thanksgiving, which is almost here! Thanksgiving is a time to reflect and remind us to be grateful for the little things in life we take for granted: our family and friends, food, a bed to sleep, a good health! In light of all that is going on with humanity, this year at the SHUGA! office, we would like to stop, and not only reflect and be grateful for all we have, but we would like to send love, peace and positive thoughts to the world and all of those in need.

In addition to the loving vibes and gathering of family and friends, we all long for the delicious Thanksgiving feast! We gather around the turkey, and enjoy amazing dishes and delicious desserts. One of our team SHUGA! members brought up an amazing recipe idea, to add something new in the Thanksgiving menu: Pumpkin Cream Cheese Crostini!

These mini bites are perfect as an appetizer and are super easy to make!

All you will need is:

8 ounces cream cheese,
¾ cup pumpkin puree
1 French baguette sliced and toasted
½ cup bacon cooked and crumbled
½ cup walnuts chopped
1 cup apple peeled and small diced
Simple Cane SHUGA! Dulce de Leche to drizzle.

Combine cream cheese and pumpkin puree. Then, slather the pumpkin cream cheese mixture on each toasted slice of French bread.

Finally, top with diced apples, cooked and crumbled bacon, and chopped walnuts. Drizzle with Simply Cane SHUGA! Dulce de Leche before serving and voilà!  Your SHUGA! drizzled Pumpkin Cream Cheese Crostinis are ready to enjoy!
