Making cookies during the holidays it’s always a fun activity to do with friends, as a family, and specially with the little ones. As you get ready for christmas and are probably making tons of cookies make sure you include this cream cheese frosting in your plans. It’s easy, fast and gives an extra layer of deliciousness to any cookie.
Learn how to make it below:
Traditional icing and cookie glaze is made with powder sugar and water or other liquid. Lots of powdered sugar is needed to give the cookies that white shinny finishing. For our cookie glaze we opted for an option that is really tasty using cream cheese and just a touch of our shugas.
We tested this delicious glaze on gingerbread men cookies. They are traditionally made during the holidays and have a somewhat bitter taste that makes them always better when covered in a sweet glaze.
The cream cheese and Lil’ SHUGA! glaze tastes so good that can be spread in just about anything. We could barely hold ourselves and almost ate it all just by tasting it little by little.
A tip we want to share is to make sure you glaze the cookies right when they come out of the oven. The glaze will melt on top of the warm cookie and after a few minutes it will harden.
Once the cookies are glazed you can add any extra decorations and have fun eating them. Enjoy and Happy Holidays!
- ½ cup cream cheese
- ⅓ cup Lil' SHUGA!
- Warm the cream cheese in the microwave for about 20 seconds or until it's extra soft and warm.
- Add the shuga slowly and whisk vigorously to blend the two very well and eliminate any lumps.
- Once all the shuga is added keep whisking away until there are no more lumps. Having a very warm cream cheese to start will help.
- You can keep adjusting the shuga or cream cheese level until you achieve a desired consistency.
