Hey SHUGA! Banana Bread

We have a confession to make, we LOVE a great Banana Bread! And since one of our SHUGA team members recently had a craving for our famous Hey SHUGA! Banana Bread, we took it as the perfect opportunity to put our recent baking tips into practice.

What we love about a great Banana Bread is that you can have it at any time: have a piece in the morning, as a breakfast with your coffee/tea; have it in your work break, as a mid-morning or afternoon snack; or have it after a light lunch, as a dessert. It will make you happy at any time of the day. Just remember to share that warm feeling with your friends and family, by giving with them a piece as well.

Banana bread with almonds on the table

Hey SHUGA! Banana Bread
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ cup almonds (or walnuts if preferred, or combine both!)
  • 1 cup Hey SHUGA!
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1¾ cups mashed ripe banana (about 5 medium bananas)
  • ⅓ cup plain low-fat yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cooking spray
  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Combine and stir the flour, baking soda, salt.
  3. Melt butter, pour it in a large bowl and mix in Hey SHUGA! In a separate bowl, beat eggs and add to the Hey SHUGA! mix slowly while beating it all together.
  4. Add smashed bananas, yogurt, vanilla and beat until well blended. Add flour mixture; stir until moist. Spoon batter into a loaf pan coated with cooking spray. Bake for 1 hour or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
  5. Cool for 10 minutes in pan on a cooling rack; remove from pan, slice and enjoy!
